When Robert Pattinson was announced as Dior Homme’s new face (the previous one being Jude Law), the entire female population of the world collectively gasped with pleasure and felt their knees turn to jelly.

Here is a photo of Robert looking most human-esque, without that shock of crazy, unwashed hair.

The famous Elvis song sums it all up in a few words: “Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love”. That’s what comes to mind whenever these male ambassadors for beauty brands stare into the depths of my soul, right from the glossy pages of any magazine I pick up.

Which bring us to the highlight of today’s article: enjoy a tribute we made, dedicated to some of the most memorable male faces in the beauty world.

Takeshi Kaneshiro for Biotherm Homme

At 39, Takeshi Kaneshiro has been reigning Biotherm Homme ambassador since 2005. It’s no simple feat to remain the face of a brand for such a long time, so Takeshi must be doing all sorts of right. In fact, he’s now so synonymous with Biotherm Homme that usually we just refer to Biotherm as ‘the brand with Takeshi Kaneshiro’s face on it’.

The most iconic campaign photo ever taken has to be this one, for the brand’s Aquapower range. We’d recognize it anywhere, even in our dreams.

Hyun Bin for Laneige Homme

Even though Hyun Bin is no longer the face of Laneige Homme (he has since been replaced by fresh-faced Korean actor Song Joong Ki), but in our hearts he will always be the best male ambassador Laneige ever had. Ever since his performance in Secret Garden (if you haven’t watched it, we highly recommend you do!), we’ve been rather enamoured. Plus, when he was endorsing Laneige Homme, his then-girlfriend Song Hye Kyo was also face of Laneige, so it added to the ‘celebrity couple’ factor.

Brad Pitt for Chanel No. 5

For the first time ever, French beauty brand Chanel featured a man as the face for its bestselling female perfume, Chanel No. 5. The 30-second ad, shot in black and white, showed Mr Pitt mumbling a monologue about finding the right person in his life. As the Huffington Post aptly put it, he “seemed more like a spoken word poet at an NYU open mic night than his usual charming self” unexpected backlash resulted in hundreds of parodies. Love it or hate it? You decide.

Godfrey Gao for SK-II Men

With his chiseled good looks and perfect skin, Godfrey Gao has women falling at his feet. Standing at 1.93m, he’s as humble as ever despite his fame. Apart from looking good on the pages of the glossies, he’s also an established actor, with a meaty role in the much-awaited movie, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, starring Lily Collins. Did you know: the 29-year-old is half-Malaysian and half-Taiwanese!

Fahrin Ahmad for Garnier Men

We were there at the launch in December 2009 when Garnier Men introduced Malaysian actor Fahrin Ahmad as its ambassador. At that time, he was an up-and-coming actor in the industry. Three years later, Fahrin Ahmad is just as cute (that smile!) and currently has over 1 million fans on Facebook. Even a run-of-the-mill status update gets him more than 5 thousand likes and 700-over comments. What can we say? Having also been the face of Uniqlo (together with Carmen Soo), he definitely does Malaysia proud!

Have a good weekend, ladies!
